Ronnie James Dio
We from the Soniphere Festival are shocked of the unexpected death of Ronnie.
Even though they had to cancel their gig as a top-act at this year’s Sonisphere, we hoped for his soon recovery.
One of the biggest voices in Rock-History is gone.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Alice in Chains
Hailing from Seattle (USA), Alice in Chains, founded in 1987, has to be mentioned as one of the most famous and succesful bands of the Alternative/Grunge genre, along with the likes of Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. They were founded in 1987 and have just released their current album „Black Gives Way To Blue“, which is their first output after more than 10 years of absence. Since the album has come out, they are riding a true wave of success and might have achieved the most prosperous comeback of the past years.
*3 Inches Of Blood*
Arisen from the love of pure Metal and connected to fantasy and mythology, 3 Inches of Blood have been fighting their way through Heavy Metal territory for about 10 years now. The band merges influences from their favourite artists (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, Manowar and enslaved, to name a few), but they still manage to brew their own kind of mortal drink.
*Smoke Blow*
The guys from Schleswig-Holstein, formerly known as „Smoke“, used to cover old ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd tunes when playing in and around their hometown Kiel. „That wasn’t a real band, actually, it was more some sort of a buddy-thing“, tells frontman Jack. But then it took a serious end when they began writing their own songs. Their latest album „The Record“ has just been released on february 5h 2010, and they will present their fresh tunes live at Sonisphere.

Due to their combination of Hardcore, Thrash and extreme Metal, they have become one of the leading forces in Heavy Metal, the more so as they never waived the importance of reflective lyrics and concepts.
*36 CRAZY FISTS*
Anthemic songs and electrifying rhythms give their repertoire a universal and contemporary sound, which has provided them a true army of fans throughout their releases, and this has gotten them on stages at the biggest rock festivals in the world. Founded in 1994 in Anchorage, Alaska, 36 Crazyfists was named after a Chackie Chan movie.
